SUBJECT:
A/C Compressor Noise Concern

This revised bulletin replaces information published on 5/23/2007, Climate Control – 010. It readdresses some 2006 – 2008 Sedona (VQ) that may exhibit a knocking noise (mainly at idle) during A/C operation. ABS/ESC Warning Lamp ON – Poor Grounds - 2006-2007 Kia Sedona

NUMBER
018

DATE
November 2007

SUBJECT:

Sedona (VQ) ABS/ESC Warning Lamp ON – Poor Grounds

Affected Vehicle Range:

2006 – 2007 Sedona (VQ) produced before March 8, 2006

Some 2006 – 2007 Sedona (VQ) vehicles with a production date earlier than March 8, 2006 may exhibit a customer concern of an ABS/ESC Warning Lamp (MIL) being illuminated. Various DTC’s such as C2402 or U0001 may also be stored in the control module – OR – the GDS Scan Tool may not be able to communicate with the ABS/ESC system at all. Do NOT replace an ABS/ESC unit without at least first applying the procedure described in this TSB. These symptoms may result from poor grounds at G19 and/or G20, caused by paint remains between the bolt and mating weld nut attaching the ground terminal to the body. This TSB provides a procedure to properly correct this condition. Remember too, that other poor connections may exist, and should also be checked prior to any part replacement.

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR DTC P0711, P0712 & P0713 - 2011-2015 Kia

NUMBER
043 [Rev 2] 02/25/2013

SUBJECT:

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR DTC P0711, P0712 & P0713

This bulletin provides information related to replacing the transaxle oil temperature sensor on 6-speed automatic transaxles with DTC P0711, P0712 and/or P0713. Replace the oil temperature sensor if current or history code is present; Do not replace the transaxle. To reduce vehicle repair time, this procedure can be performed with the transaxle installed in the vehicle. Photos shown are on-bench to increase the clarity and understanding of this procedure. This is a generic procedure and does not account for minor variations between models.

DTC P0711, P0712, and P0713 can be set due to a faulty PCM, an open circuit, or a bad transaxle oil temperature sensor. When either of these codes is set, the default value for the transaxle oil temperature sensor is 176°F (80° C). Prior to replacing the temperature sensor, perform a component and wire harness inspection as shown in the KGIS DTC diagnostics. Only proceed with sensor R&R after confirming proper connections, circuits, and PCM simulation checks.
