GROUP MODEL Safety Recall Campaign 2022MY EV6 (CV) NUMBER DATE SC236 May 2022 SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN SHIFTER CONTROL UNIT (SCU) LOGIC IMPROVEMENT (SC236) This bulletin provides information to update the Shifter Control Unit (SCU) software logic on certain 2022MY EV6 (CV) vehicles produced from November 17, 2021 through April 7, 2022. The subject vehicles are equipped with a Shift-By-Wire system that contains a Shifter Control Unit (SCU) and a parking pawl actuator motor. If a voltage fluctuation occurs when the vehicle is ’OFF’ and in the ’PARKED’ position, the command signal from the SCU to the parking pawl actuator may be affected, resulting in the temporary disengagement of the parking mechanism and potential vehicle rollaway. Vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash and/or injuries. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to update the SCU software to prevent any temporary disengagement of the parking mechanism. Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.
