Moisture Present On Passenger Side Floor

MOISTURE PRESENT ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR

If you encounter a customer complaint relating to moisture being present on the passenger side floor, check the evaporator lines as a possible source for the moisture. On some 2012-2013MY Rio vehicles, the evaporator lines may have been insulated with foam tubes that may not be adhering properly to the evaporator lines and allowing for an air gap to form. This may cause condensation to form on the lines which may then find its way onto the passenger floor. Remove the evaporator and all insulation from the pipes. Locally source and apply new foam insulation tape to the lines, making sure to completely wrap the lines from the evaporator core to the expansion valve, in order to prevent condensation from reoccurring.
