SQUEAKING NOISE FROM REAR OF VEHICLE
When addressing a customer complaint related to a squeaking sound emanating from the rear of the vehicle, and the noise can be isolated to the rear suspension, check the right and left rear shock towers as the most likely source of the noise. Once the noise has been isolated to either shock tower, use a large flat-head screw driver to provide extra clearance between the metal surfaces, at the locations shown in the images below. Make sure to only provide enough clearance to alleviate the noise concern. A sound file is available for reference by clicking on the attachment above.
