GRINDING OR CREAKING NOISE WHEN TURNING
This article provides information regarding a potential grinding or creaking noise heard from the front of the vehicle when turning the wheel quickly at slow speeds, on some 2011 – 2013MY Sorento (XMa), produced prior to August 28, 2012. This concern may be caused by corrosion of the Front Strut Bearing due to water or debris entry and is more commonly found in regions with higher snowfall and road salt usage.
Verify the customer complaint of a grinding or creaking noise during turning and remove the front strut bearings for inspection. If there is a rough feeling when turning the bearing by hand, replace it with a new part and recheck to verify that the noise is no longer heard.
