HARSH ENGAGEMENT FROM TRANSMISSION AT LOW SPEEDS
If you encounter a customer complaint relating to harsh engagement from the transmission at low speeds, check the HPCU/HSG coolant reservoir is at the proper level and that no leaks are present (Fig. A). Also, check the Electric Water Pump (EWP) operation using the GDS “Actuation Test”. Do not rely on the “Success” message displayed on GDS as proof of proper pump operation. Listen for the pump noise coming from the right front fender area in order to confirm operation. If the EWP makes no noise while in operation, diagnose further and repair accordingly.
