SUBJECT:
Cooling Fan Noise
This bulletin provides information relating to a change in the Sedona engine cooling fan.
The Sedona engine cooling fan blades were redesigned as of 8/23/01 production to reduce fan noise.
The new design engine cooling fan assembly may be used as a field fix for in-use complaint vehicles built before 8/23/01 production.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove two bolts and loosen clamp on air intake duct, remove duct.
2. Remove two bolts securing hood latch to upper radiator support.
3. Remove three bolts at each end of upper radiator support.
4. Release four wiring harness clips from upper radiator support.
5. Tilt upper radiator support forward, and release clip on hood release cable. Remove upper radiator support.
6. Remove cooling fan attaching bolts (3).
7. Disconnect engine cooling fan connector. Remove cooling fan, using care not to damage radiator fins.
8. Install new fan and re-assemble in reverse order of disassembly.
* NOTICE Use caution when installing upper radiator support to prevent pinching wire harness or hood release cable.
AFFECTED PRODUCTION RANGE:
All Sedona vans built prior to 8/23/01.
