SUBJECT:

FRONT STRUT BEARING REPLACEMENT

This bulletin provides the procedure for replacing the front strut bearings on some 2011-2013MY Sorento (XM) vehicles, produced from October 26, 2009 through January 21, 2013, which may exhibit a creaking noise emanating from the front of the vehicle when turning the wheel, quickly, at slow speeds. This concern may be caused by corrosion of the front strut bearing due to water or debris entry and is more commonly found in regions where heavy amounts of road salt are used for de-icing in the winter months. Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to replace both front strut bearings to resolve the
concern.
